Popup Boutique at Sarah’s Inn Holiday Gift Project (Phase 3)

It’s a wrap!!

Well until Mother’s Day 2015!  Over 100 women were able to select more than 500 pieces of donated jewelry (collectively) through the Heirloom Piece Project’s annual Popup Boutique at Sarah’s Inn Holiday Gift Project! Each year and the stories shared – brings more clarity to the purpose of all of this, though a tangible gift was given, the true gifts were the “spiritual jewels” that were discovered and celebrated through out the process.imageimage

Not trying to figure it all out (because I didn’t sign up for this task, I promise I didn’t) just enjoying the journey and grateful that God (Love) saw fit to use me (and you) for it!

Thanks again for the support!

Jewlery Sorting Party 2014 (Phase 2)

This year we decided to work & play!  Collecting donations for the Heirloom Piece Project is one thing – but sorting, cleaning and organizing all of the beautiful pieces is an extremely daunting task!  No one person can do this alone and remain upbeat, lol!

Sooooo grateful for the friends, family and clients of Alabasta Beauty Salon for helping to lighten this load!  You ladies are truly appreciated!

Such an Honor!

This was a really cool and unexpected surprise!  A couple of months ago I received an “Outstanding Advocacy” award from Sarah’s Inn – for the work that my team and I have done this past year.  imageI’ve been working a weekly Domestic Violence midnight shift crisis line since 2010 – and with the help of generous jewelry donations from clients, family and friends – have been able to offer DV clients beautiful trinkets and pampering services that promotes sisterhood, self care and boost self esteem.

So grateful to be apart of and recognized by an organization that advocates daily for women and their families.

Until next time,

Peace & Blessings

Mother’s Day Pampering Event

Hi everyone! I’m not the greatest at updating social media sites! Always on the “to do” list – so you can only imagine the joy I feel when I’m able to check a task off of the list!;)  Earlier this year in May – the Heirloom Piece Project along with Alabasta Beauty, teamed up with Sarah’s Inn (a Domestic Violence Advocacy agency), to create a relaxing/pampering experience for their clients.

imageComplimentary eco friendly hand treatments were provided, as well as teaching the ladies the importance of self -care as a means to preservation and wellness.  We had a blast and the women love it!  With the smooth sounds of island jazz playing in the back ground and fragrant therapy of lavender that filled the air, I must say – the spa theme that our team envisioned truly exceeded our expectations.

The lovely ladies at Fair Oaks church Oak Park was generous enough to provide refreshment, help with child care and worked as personal shoppers helping with jewelry selections and gift wrapping.image

The Sarah’s Inn team worked their tails off to help bring this event to life.  I’m so grateful for the work that they do and for believing in the efforts of the HeirloomPiece Project.

Until next time,

Peace & Blessings

Welcome!

Hi, welcome to the new blog site of The Heirloom Piece Project!  This effort was started from the desire to help women in unfavorable circumstances feel  better about themselves (inside and out).  Last year during the hoilday, a network of women was asked to clean out their jewelry boxes and donate their old or unworn pieces to local women needs charities/organizations in the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs.

The donations and support was amazing!imageimage

Please browse our site to get to know us better and check out the numerous ways to Get INvolved!

Also, check out the video below to see how The Heirloom Piece Project (along with your generous donations) is able to add a sparkle of hope to the women in our community… Thanks in advance for your support!
